About the wine
A symphony of vintage vintages (19, 20, 21), Sylvaner, and Auxerrois, brought to fruition through direct pressing and fermentation in concrete. Untamed, untreated, and SO2-free, this lovely white, evoking mental conjurings of the sweetest possible endings, offers a profusion of pineapple and banana flavors that perfectly complements desserts, salty snacks, or can simply be savored solo.
The Producer: Kumpf et Meyer
Established in 1997 by Sophie Kumpf and Philippe Meyer, who both hail from families of Alsatian winegrowers, Domaine Kumpf et Meyer has upheld organic practices from its inception. In 2010, Philippe departed from the venture, leaving Sophie to carry on the domaine's legacy. Supported by Julien Albertus, Sophie initiated a shift towards biodynamic methods in their vineyards. Their estate spans 16 hectares, comprising 70 small parcels that stretch across a 15-kilometer expanse, encompassing five communes in the Alsace region.

The Region: Alsace, France
Wines from Alsace, nestled in the northeastern corner of France along the Rhine River, offer a captivating and distinctive vinous journey. Renowned for their purity, varietal expression, and exceptional terroir, Alsace wines are celebrated for their clarity and consistency. The region's unique microclimate, sheltered by the Vosges Mountains, allows for the cultivation of a remarkable array of grape varieties, with Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris standing as emblematic stars. These wines, often bottled in tall, slender vessels known as flûtes, enchant the palate with their vibrant acidity, aromatic complexity, and the ability to beautifully reflect the terroir in which they are grown. From the bone-dry and mineral-driven Rieslings to the opulent and spicy Gewürztraminers, Alsace wines offer an enchanting glimpse into the artistry of winemaking, making them a treasured gem in the world of fine wine.
