The Details
This is a light and bright macerated Trebbiano Toscano from Macchion dei Lupi whose estate is comprised of ~3.5 hectares outside Suvereto, a beautiful town on the western coast of southern Tuscany, within reach of the Mediterranean.
Tasting Notes: Tropical fruit envelope the nose of this Tuscan delight that moves with vigor along its lean backbone of acidity. Think orange lychee gummies with a bone-dry finish. A summer sipper.
Vinification: 100% Trebbiano Toscano, hand-harvested from 50 year-old vines grown in sandy soil strewn with lava deposits. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation with only its native yeasts in open-top tanks where the juice stays in contact with the skins for 2 days. A portion of the wine ages in amphora for 8 months while the rest ages in concrete to then be blended before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2. 12.5% ABV
