The Details
This is an absurdly delicious, energetic, intense Gamay from volcanic feldspar soils around the hamelt Volvic in central France's Auvergne region. Vincent Marie tends four different vineyard sites around Volvic.
Vinification: 100% Gamay, the Délire du Désordre (tr.: 'The Delirium of Disorder') is hand-harvested from 117 year-old vines grown in volcanic feldspar soils at 1200 feet elevation. The grapes undergo a gentle, extended maceration over the course of 3 weeks before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2. This has aged in bottle close to 18 months.
