The Details
100% Barbera from the Alder Ridge vineyard in Washington, destemmed and aged in stainless steel for nine months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Small amount of SO2 at bottling. Stern blackcurrants and deep plum on the palate, with less of the rusticity of Piedmont but more of the earth and ripeness of the Pacific Northwest. A stellar pizza wine, particularly with garlic knots.
