The Details
For the past century and a half, Weingut Heligenblut (whose origins can be traced back to 746 AD when Saint Boniface had the first vines laid down here) has been tended by the Hannemann family. This is 100% Riesling from the Rheinhessen biodynamically cultivated on their unique, volcanic melaphyr soils which gives the wine a unique savory framework with which to work. Grapes are hand-harvested, directly pressed and spontaneously ferment and age for a year sur lie all in stainless steel. Unfined, unfiltered, minimal added SO2.
