The Details

Claret-style red from Alentejo in inner central Portugal at elevation. Grapes are a field blend from many varieties cultivated on old-vines (Muscat varieties, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, etc.). Bunches are crushed and macerated with stems and without stomping for 5 days. Grapes are pressed and spontaneously ferment in stainless steel tank for 2 months prior to pressing to neutral oak barrel where the wine is in élevage sur lie for a year. Bottled thereafter unfined, unfiltered, minimal added SO2.
