The Details
Gorgeous, completely unique wine. 100% Riesling from a very big 2015 vintage, the grapes were hand-harvested, lightly macerated before pressing and spontaneous fermentation of the juice in neutral barrel where it burped and bubbled for 5 years prior to bottling with a small amount of residual sugar. The wine then continued its slow fermentation under crown cap et voila - a dry, rich, gorgeous singularity of Alsatian riesling with a little spritzy pizzazz on opening. Stunner from Julien Albertus that has been rewarded by enormous patience. Zero/zero.
