The Details
From the importer:
Godello is autochthonous to the Gallegan comarca of Valdeorras, and to Bierzo, and is thought to have been brought to Galicia by the Romans or perhaps Celts. It has long been grown as a table grape in western Portugal and Galicia, but was not advertised as being used in commercial wines until the 20th century. Early-ripening and tending towards acidity. In `18, Juanjo decided to make this wine direct press, which made the wine fresh and the fermentation challenging without the participation of the skins. A bit of fructose stayed behind, which, exalted by the age in bottle, makes this wine fine and lively at once.
