The Details
100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Robert Surmann vineyard, located in Totness, on black sandy soil with petrified schist.
The fruit is destemmed, left to soak and start ferment on berries for 2 weeks. It’s then pressed and fermented and aged in 680L vitrified ceramic eggs. The wine is slightly cloudy with a dark rich golden color. The richness carries through to the nose with cape gooseberry and elderflower. It's a salty palette, voluptuous with perfume from a scented tropical garden lying naked on savory texture.
Anton Von Klopper is a natural wine genius, one of the great legends of South Australian natty wine and one of the heroes of zero additive wines in the Southern hemisphere. Located in the Basket Range of South Australia, Anton started his Lucy Margaux label in 2002 as a tribute to his daughter Lucy and to a cheeky take on the famous Chateau Margaux.
