The Details
This is a long, minerally Verdejo from Ismael Gozalo who works five hectares of old vines in central Spain.
Tasting Notes: Sprightly, joyous Verdejo from MicroBio - hailed by some as "Wizard of The Verdejos." The palate lengthens the wine and transforms what was at first fresh and invigorating into something weighted, stony, and truly profound.
Vinification: 100% Old-vine Verdejo. The vineyards are harvested twice by hand. The first time the aim is to preserve the freshness and the small amount of alcohol, the second and larger harvest is intended to achieve ripeness, fruit, structure and length in the mouth. After a classic vinification, the wine is left to rest for 5 and a half months with its fine lees. Bottled without filtering or clarifying.
