The Details

Much like the Jura’s native varieties, Gamay is a grape light in colour and low in tannins and so it comes as no surprise that Nico vinifies it with a deft hand. This year’s version comes from fruit harvested with Raphaël Saint-Cyr in Bellevue in the Southern Beaujolais. The grapes fermented as whole bunches before being pressed to old barrels for a year of rest, and a classic year has produced a Beaujolais of real charm and depth, with plush fruit and pretty florals meaning a bottle will not last long.
