Grenache Noir, Gris, and Blanc and Marsanne
"Massale 2019, named after the massal selection Grenache vines from which the grapes come, is a blend of four grape varieties from two parcels. One parcel has the same young Marsanne vines (10 years old) used to make Mars’Ane 2019, and the other contains a field blend of massal selection Grenache Noir, Gris, and Blanc vines between 15 and 20 years old.
The Marsanne is de-stemmed, pressed, then fermented initially in stainless steel tanks before being moved to neutral oak barrels for five months. The three Grenache spend three weeks in steel tanks for carbonic maceration. After pressing, the juice goes back into steel, and is blended with the Marsanne in Spring 2020 before bottling in May 2020." (Bon Raisin)
