The Details
Biodynamically cultivated Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Sauvigon Blanc, Welschriesling, and Neuburger, Muskat Ottonel from Burgenland.
Grapes are hand harvested and destemmed, while half are macerated for ten days and the other half are direct pressed. Spontaneously fermented in oak, concrete, and stainless steel. Aged for 9 months in concrete eggs and large wooden barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with 10 mg of added sulfites.
From Markus:
“In the of creating M.A. weiss (=white) we have been inspired by the old tradition of the area to blend a small proportion of an aromatic grape into a
structured and fresh wine to add a special twist to it. The name ‘Skin and Stones’ comes from the Skin maceration and the rocky soils. It also implicates that the wine is bone dry.”
