This is a refreshing, slightly briny take on Muscadet from Patrick Bouju of Domaine La Boheme who works in central France's Auvergne and often sources grapes from trusted farmers in Beaujolais and the Loire.
Tasting Notes: Patrick Bouju! 100% Melon de Bourgogne from his friend Romain Petiteau's vines. Direct press. Bright, surprising and totally springtime, this is Melon for Melon nerds, but also a zany white to drink while listening to the new Strokes album.
Vinification: 100% Melon de Bourgogne hand-harvested from vines grown in amphibolite, gneiss, and schist soil. The grapes are directly-pressed and undergo spontaneous fermentation in fiberglass tanks with only the help of native yeasts. The wine then ages for a short period of time in fiberglass before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2.
