The Details

100% old-vine Gamay from the southern reaches of Chénas across the forest from Julie Balagny's northern-Fleurie vineyard En Remont (how Romuald explained exactly where his vines could be found). From a steep slope of granite/quartz. Grapes are hand-harvested, whole-cluster spontaneously fermented and aged in neutral vessel before bottling unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.
