In his own words, this is "Beach Season." From Joe Swick, who is a fifth-generation winemaker working vines in both Willamette Valley, Oregon and Columbia Gorge, Washington, we are pleased to offer you this inimitable 3-vintage rosé blend.
Tasting Notes: Hype-juice well worth the hype! Glou-glou for days. Whips. Slaps. Hits. Anything else? Elegant, deep, genre-bending wine, vintage blending fine. Enjoy with basically anything other than a bad attitude. Reminiscent of Tavel rosé, but a bit more lifted acidity and makes us really miss country music clichés like toes in water, ass in sand.
Vinification: (A blend of three years rosé vintages) Pinot Noir, Malbec, Syrah. The grapes are hand-harvested from different vineyard sites (2017 Pinot Noir from sandy loam soils at 600ft elevation, Willamette Valley, Orgeon; 2018 Syrah from sandy loam soils Yakima, WA 1600ft elevation; 2019 Malbec from sandy loam soils Yakima, WA 1600ft elevation) and directly-pressed where they undergo spontaneous fermentation with only the help of native yeasts. They ferment separately; these ferments are gently worked by foot 1-2 times/day. No temp. control. The juices are aged in neutral French (oak) barrels for 3 months, 14 months, and 28 months (ergo the cuvée's name). Blended before bottling, this wine is unfined, unfiltered with no additional SO2.
