Rita & Rudolf Trossen, "St. Peter" 2022

Dedicated to a church that was built by the Romans in honor of St. Peter, a church that Rita & Rudi describe as the former spiritual heart of the Mosel, "whose bells filled the Moselle Valley with the sound of piety for a long time." Planted by Rudolph's father beneath the ruins of this church, the Riesling vines perished sometime mid-century and in their stead new growth was planted in 2016 by Rudolf. Hand-harvested, whole-bunch directly pressed into tank, spontaneously fermented at a low temp sur lie prior to being bottled unfined, unfiltered, 19mg SO2 at bottling. 11.5%ABV
